Featured Custom Home Project
This 3-story home is built to impress with a grand split staircase rising to the porch on the second level. Built in a Modern Craftsman style, detailed columns, green board and batten shutters with working hinges, and a small gable accent window create a friendly atmosphere for family and guests alike.
The exterior of this home is trimmed with brick on the bottom level and with James Hardie board siding on the upper levels.
In the back of the home, two tiers of retaining walls with landscaping sit on each side of a flat backyard area large enough for an inground pool.
The rear exterior of this home only reveals the upper two floors, as the home is situated on a hill. It has a screened-in back porch nestled in the roofline. On the driveway side of the home, there is plenty of space for extra parking outside the double garage, flanked by carriage lamps.
A spacious screened-in porch sits nestled in the rear of the home cooled by two outdoor ceiling fans hanging from the beadboard ceiling.
Inside, the rustic wide planked hardwood floors provide the character and charm for the home while the heavy white wood molding and door/window trim create the Craftsman character. And the dining room is adorned with custom wood molding that creates rectangular designs and a wainscotting effect.
The kitchen has white shaker cabinets, stainless steel appliances, including a double oven, and a shiplap-covered range hood. The large eat-in kitchen island deviates from the white color scheme with a pewter gray color and additional wood molding and oversized pendant lights to accentuate the island as the focal point.
Beside the refrigerator, the kitchen has a built-in butler’s pantry with additional serving space and a wine cooler built into the cabinetry. And on the other side of the doorway, there is a custom built-in office with cabinets, cubbies, and a desk with a quartz countertop to match those in the kitchen.
Another special feature of this kitchen is an oversized pantry with built-in shelves and cabinets and counter space which could be used for additional food preparation, almost like a scullery or prep kitchen, but without a separate sink.
The master bedroom has a white accent wall with rectangular custom molding and a whimsical chandelier that looks like candles.
The master bathroom has a very long dual vanity. The separate drop-in tub and oversized shower provide ample space for bathing and showering with the tiled tub surround extending into a large custom built-in shower bench. The shower has three showerheads including a wall-mounted one, a handheld, and an overhead rain showerhead.
The entire basement, apart from the garage, is a large in-law apartment with rustic hardwood floors and a beautiful kitchenette. The white shaker cabinets match those in the rest of the home and the kitchenette has a full-size stainless steel fridge/freezer and a built-in microwave, as well as a large kitchen sink with a brushed nickel faucet.
The basement apartment ceilings utilize recessed lighting to make the space bright and cheerful. There is plenty of room for an eating/seating area near the kitchen, as well as a formal living room space. Of course, the basement also has a master bedroom suite.
